Good call, Sean. Thanks for the feedback. You're right. It's not a automatically a win everywhere. Most leagues, and the standard friendly game or bar game, give a win to the player who makes the 8 ball in on the break. However, anyone playing BCA or VNEA, I would assume, would know the differing rules. I was especially targeting that tip to less experienced, or novice, players, if you will.

I do try to post things that are helpful to all levels of experience. Some things, especially my top ten lists, are for the less experienced players, I give some more detailed tips and tricks for the intermediate players, and a post or two here have some things targeted to your more expert level players, because, Heaven knows, the expert players are the ones who have the toughest time with plateauing in their skill. I know I do. Thanks again for the feedback.

In respone to the number one rule 8 on the break. I agree that a lot of people do not understand this, and here is a little insight to why. I play on a traveling BCA santioned league. In BCA and VNEA if you make the 8 on the break the shooter has the option to spot the 8 ball or can re-rack and break. In APA and in standard bar rules the 8 counts as a win.
