FAQ

Q. Is all the content on IShootPool.com unique?
A. Unless otherwise noted, yes. Written content is always written by me and belongs to me. If there is an article I want my readers to look at on another site, I will post a link to it, maybe with a small excerpt or something. I will never copy it directly to my site and I will certainly not claim it to be my own. I may post some pictures and videos that belong to other websites but they are linked directly from their website, not uploaded to my site, and I always make sure to post a credit to the copyright or intellectual property owner in the form of a link. I am very serious about protecting others’ intellectual property and my own.

Q. What experience do you have in pool that makes you a credible source of information and tips?
A. I have been playing pool for several years and am part of two pool leagues, one APA and one in-house. I play in all sorts of places under all sorts of rule setups, and though I am not the best player out there, I am a pretty good player. I humbly provide my readers with some of the best tips and information, some things I’ve learned from experience and some things I’ve learned from research and lessons.

Q. What kinds of pool do you play?
A. I love eight-ball, nine-ball and straight. I’m known to play a snooker game or something crazy like cutthroat every now and then, but I really prefer the more traditional forms of pool.

Q. What if I really don’t know how to play pool?
A. That is not a problem. You are obviously here because you are interested. Keep reading and you will start to catch on. You are also free to send me an e-mail through the Contact Me page and ask me anything you want. That’s what I am here for. In the near future, I hope to offer tutorials and an e-book.

Q. Do you suggest any organizations or leagues to join if I want to play regularly?
A. My favorite is the American Poolplayers Association (APA). (They also have a version in Canada, the CPA.) The rules are easy to understand and everything is fair no matter how good you are…. or aren’t. They cater well to amateurs and everything is fun and fair. Check out www.poolplayers.com for information on that. I would also check with your local bars, taverns and pool halls. Ask someone in charge what they participate in. They might be part of different associations or even have a rousing in-house league.
